How To - Touch Screen Calibration
The ELO 1717L Accutouch resistive touchscreen monitor is approved for use as part of the Kitchen iQ system. If it is not responding, or not responding accurately to touch, it may need to be re-calibrated.
Pre-calibration checks
Before re-calibrating the touchscreen:

Check that the two cables are correctly connected between the monitor and the controller box.

VGA cable for the display

USB cable to receive the touch input

If the cables are NOT connected, switch off the controller box, connect the cables and switch the controller box back on.
- Ensure the kitchen screen is configured for touch at head office.
- Select Sites > Kitchen Screens > Touch Support and choose Single Click or Two click from the drop-down list.
If your screen is configured for touch support, you should be able to press on tickets/items to bump them.

(The controller box must be switched off for the cables to be recognised.)
Depending on the version of Kitchen iQ and your configuration settings, other icons may be displayed that can be pressed in touch mode, such as:
If you unable to press anything or the response is erratic your touchscreen needs to be recalibrated
Touchscreen calibration
To calibrate your touchscreen:

Connect a keyboard or bump bar into the second USB port on the controller box (if one isn’t connected already).

Configure the bump bar type of your kitchen screen to either Keyboard or Bump bar depending on which input device you have plugged in. (If your setup has changed.)

Configure the touch support of your kitchen screen to either Single Click or Two Click.

Show the main menu by selecting the Menu button or pressing the M key:
- Use the arrow keys to highlight Calibrate touch screen and select Bump or Enter on the keyboard.
- Use the arrow keys to highlight Yes and select Bump or Enter on the keyboard.
- The calibration application is launched.

Touch the screen at the points indicated by the cross.

When complete you will be prompted to accept the new calibration. Select Accept.

The calibration app will close and you will be returned to the kitchen screen.

The new touch screen calibration is saved
If you need/want to disconnect the keyboard or bump bar, disconnect the cables and return to the Config app to redefine as appropriate. (The bump bar type should be set to None if the screen is intended to be a touch-only screen.)
